AEM is ratcheting up the equipment manufacturing industry's involvement in Infrastructure Week this year with a reception, the annual Transportation Construction Coalition Fly-In, and a suite of other activities. The highlight of the week: AEM is helping to launch Infrastructure Week 2019 by hosting the official kick-off reception on the rooftop of the Liaison Hotel, just steps from Capitol Hill.

Official Kickoff Reception
AEM is partnering with Infrastructure Week 2019 to host the official kickoff reception with more than 150 VIPs in attendance, including members of Congress, their staff, AEM member companies, select reporters, and infrastructure policy stakeholders. The event will include two panel discussions featuring policy experts, elected officials, and members of the media, including one on "The Future of the Federal, State and Local Infrastructure Partnership" and a second on "Accelerating the Use of Technology in the Planning, Construction, and Operation of Infrastructure."
The reception will highlight AEM's role as a champion for infrastructure investment in Washington, D.C., and highlight dozens of new photos by professional photographer Brad Romano profiling the 1.3 million men and women of the industry.

ARTBA Federal Issues Program and Transportation Construction Coalition Fly-In
AEM President Dennis Slater will moderate a panel of industry CEOs during the American Road & Transportation Builders Association's (ARTBA) Federal Issues Program on Tuesday, May 14, featuring ARTBA President & CEO Dave Bauer, American Public Transit Association President & CEO Paul Skoutelas, American Council of Engineering Companies President & CEO Linda Bauer Darr, and American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials Jim Tymon.
The week will close out with AEM's active participation in the annual Transportation Construction Coalition Fly-In, which will showcase the collective voice of leaders from 31 national associations and construction unions with a direct interest in federal transportation programs. Several hundred industry leaders, including AEM, will convene in Washington on May 14 to 15 to urge Congress to fix the Highway Trust Fund and address other critical transportation infrastructure needs. The program will feature remarks from key leaders and one-on-one visits on Capitol Hill with lawmakers and staff.
