    Alex Lyon & Son Conducts Two-Day Retirement Auction

This Grove RT635C crane piqued the interest of several bidders. (L-R): Craig Pruitt and Dennis Johnson, both of Dennis Johnson Landscaping & Grading in Spartanburg, and Michael Johnson of Johnson Brother Mechanical in Campobello, S.C., were interested in this Volvo EC210BLC excavator. The ring man asks for the next bid on this JLG scissor lift. Tony Stamile of Tony’s Auto Salvage in Spartanburg, S.C., plans, to bid on few of these buckets. Andy McClure (L) and Jack Lyon keep the auction running smoothly. The sale included several buckets, many of which were purchased by overseas buyers.

    On Oct. 28 and 29, Alex Lyon & Son held a two-day retirement auction in Spartanburg, S.C. The complete liquidation featured a variety of manufacturers — Cat, John Deere, Komatsu, Case, Volvo, Grove and Terex. Equipment on the block included hydraulic excavators, motorgraders, motor scrapers, crawler tractors, crawler loaders, rubber-tired loaders, marine aggregate and forestry equipment, dump trucks, truck tractors, pickups and equipment and dump trailers. The sale also featured a number of collectible antique tractors and implements.
