Construction Equipment Guide

Alliance Riggers and Constructors, El Paso, TX, recently took delivery of a new 300-ton (270 t) LR 1280, from Liebherr Nenzing Crane Co. Alliance has purchased six new Liebherr cranes since ConExpo 1999, including two mobile cranes, and four crawler cranes ranging from 100- to 300-ton (90 to 270 t) capacities.

Phillip H. Cordova, CEO and general manager of Alliance, cited “unparalleled service” as the highlight of the relationship with Liebherr. “Their cranes are rugged and reliable, and the support Liebherr provides us is exceptional . . . we call with a technical problem, and Liebherr has a service technician on the next flight out. The availability of the Liebherr machines is 99.9 percent.”

Alliance Riggers is a spin-off of El Paso Crane and Rigging, founded in 1974, by Cordova and his father. It serves industrial and petrochemical customers with 30 cranes including Link Belts, Manitowocs and the six Liebherrs.
