Thriving in today's competitive transportation construction market means having the best team on the job and arming them with the skills they need to increase efficiency, minimize project delivery time and generate profit. The American Road & Transportation Builders Association's Transportation Development Foundation (ARTBA-TDF) will host two multi-day, intensive Project Management Academies in Chicago and Charlotte, respectively, this December to help both new or prospective leaders better manage their firm's projects.

An intensive two-day program Dec. 6-7 in Charlotte will be held at the headquarters of the Carolinas AGC, a construction trade association made up of contractors and construction-related firms in North and South Carolina.

The three-day intensive Dec. 13-15 program in Chicago is being hosted at the Illinois Road and Transportation Builders Association (IRTBA) headquarters. IRTBA member firms design, build and maintain the state highways, transit systems, railways and aviation systems across Illinois.

Both programs are built around interactive settings. Participants will learn from industry experts in key disciplines that are tailored to the needs of transportation contractors.

Topics for both academies include :

• Construction Documentation;

• DBE Compliance & Ethics;

• Client Relations;

• Economics of Safety;

• Management & Leadership in the Workplace

The Chicago academy will also include a scheduling session, led by nationally-recognized scheduling expert Dr. Jay Newitt, a recently retired Brigham Young University professor.

Costs range from $1,299-$1,499 per person, with a discount for the 2nd (or more) person from each company.

Attendees can earn up to 15 Professional Development Hours.
