Blue Ridge Tractor LLC recently held a grand opening event to celebrate the completion of its new facility, located at 12150 Blue Ridge Drive in Benton, Ill.

Guests of the event enjoyed locally-catered BBQ, participated in raffles for prizes and competed in an operator skills competition using Kobelco excavators. The winner of the skills competition was awarded a $100 store credit.

Blue Ridge Tractor is a family-owned and operated, full-service heavy equipment dealership providing parts, sales and services for Dressta-Dresser-International and Kobelco heavy equipment in central/southern Illinois and western Kentucky.

Blue Ridge Tractor LLC was founded by members of the Gibbs Family out of Benton, Ill., and is continuing to grow and add to its list of products and services. The company's initial facility was located at 6923 Mine 5 Road in Benton, Ill. This location has been in the family for more than 20 years and was utilized as office and shop space. Until the new facility was complete, this initial location was the company's main hub.

The new store's purpose is to be a more visible sales office, where all sales activities and parts/equipment warehousing takes place.
