Bobcat Laser-Guided Grading Receivers Allow Grade Elevation Adjustment From the Cab

Construction Equipment Guide

Bobcat Company and Trimble have teamed up to improve receivers for laser-guided grading with Bobcat box blade or grader attachments. The new Bobcat receivers combine new features that improve grading accuracy and speed while making it easier to make adjustments to the grade.

In-Cab Grade Adjustment

Instead of getting out of the cab to raise and lower the transmitter, operators can adjust the grade from the cab using Bobcat selectable joystick controls and an easy-to-read cab display. With in-cab grade control, operators can change the blade position up to 2 in. (5 cm) in either direction to quickly alter the grade. With previous receivers, changes to grade elevation had to be made by moving the laser transmitter or the receivers manually.

Smoother and Faster Adjustments

The laser grader features a proportional system that provides three speed ranges that allow the operator to raise and lower the blade quickly or slowly for smoother corrections and less chatter when grading in the automatic or manual modes. Operators can use the high-speed, raise-and-lower function to quickly move and dump material, and quickly return to creating a perfect grade.

Move More Material

The photo cell on the receiver has been lengthened, allowing the attachment to travel farther up or down without losing the signal from the transmitter. This feature enables the operator to stay in the machine to adjust the transmitter and decreases the number of passes it takes for the attachment to complete the grade. Improvements also have been made to the grader attachment. A proportional valve provides smoother and more accurate adjustments of the moldboard.

Bobcat offers three laser transmitters that can be used to control the new receivers and quickly perform flat-plane, single-slope or dual-slope grading.
