BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) The worldwide president of North Dakota’s Bobcat Co. has been named chief executive officer of Doosan Infracore International.

Doosan said Scott R. Nelson also will continue as Bobcat’s worldwide president.

South Korea’s Doosan Infracore Co., a global manufacturer of construction equipment, purchased Bobcat last November from Ingersoll-Rand Co. Ltd. in a deal worth $4.9 billion.

Doosan Infracore International, based in Charlotte, N.C., is a U.S.-based subsidiary of Doosan Infracore.

Doosan Infracore Chairman Yongmaan Park announced Nelson’s appointment, saying he brings “a wealth of knowledge and experience to DII.”

The 44-year-old Nelson has more than 20 years of experience with Bobcat, and most recently was president of Bobcat Europe. He was born in Breckenridge, Minn.

Bobcat, which makes skid-steer loaders, has North Dakota plants in Bismarck and Gwinner. Its North Dakota headquarters office is in West Fargo, and it anchors Bismarck’s Northern Plains Commerce Centre.
