Construction Association of Michigan (CAM) and Home Builders Association of Southeastern Michigan (HBA) will once again present Michigan's largest construction industry event, the Great Lakes Design and Construction Expo 2026. The expo is a one-day statewide event bringing together residential and commercial designers, contractors, suppliers and service providers, and offering networking opportunities, educational workshops and special events to support the continued success of Michigan's building industry.
The expo will be held on Feb. 3, 2026, at the Vibe Credit Union Showplace (formerly known as Suburban Collection Showplace), 46100 Grand River Ave. in Novi, Mich. Both commercial and residential industry professionals are expected to attend to learn about technology, products, supplies and services from more than 150 exhibitors. Industry-specific educational workshops and safety training will be offered, as well, to maximize skills, competency and professionalism. In 2025, more than 1,000 industry professionals attended the expo.
"This is our seventh consecutive year presenting the Great Lakes Design and Construction Expo and we will continue to provide exceptional business resources, networking and educational opportunities," said Kevin Koehler, president of CAM. "The lineup of exhibitors, presenters, speakers and programs will address current issues of importance to both commercial and residential professionals."
"We have found that while there are some differences between those involved in residential construction and those in commercial construction, there are far more areas where our interests align," said Forrest Wall, HBA's CEO. "This makes the expo a highly valuable opportunity for industry professionals. Combining our associations' resources allows the event to exceed the scope of what CAM and HBA could offer separately."
The expo also will host an economic forecast breakfast before the exhibit floor opens, featuring keynote speaker Fan-Yu Kuo, a senior economist of the National Association of Home Builders in Washington, D.C. During the expo, CAM will hold its 140th annual meeting for CAM members.
The economic forecast breakfast and CAM annual meeting are ticketed events with advance reservations required. There is a flat fee of $25 to attend the classes and workshops available during the Expo. Visiting the exhibit floor is offered at no charge to individuals involved in commercial or residential construction.
