Case Unveils Web Site Describing Tier IV Emissions

Construction Equipment Guide

Case Construction Equipment has launched a new Web site devoted to helping customers understand the U.S. EPA Tier IV interim emissions regulations that take effect in 2011.

The new site, www.CaseCE.com/Tier4_NA, outlines the challenges facing the off-highway equipment industry to significantly reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) and particulate-matter (PM) emissions from diesel engine exhaust. The site depicts the timing of Tier IV requirements and explains how Case will adopt two approaches — selective catalytic reduction (SCR) and cooled exhaust gas recirculation (CEGR) – to address Tier IV interim and, eventually, Tier IV final requirements.

“Case is applying the technology that achieves the lowest operating costs, depending on each model’s engineering characteristics and application requirements,” said Brad Stemper, training manager. “Our Tier IV technology solutions integrate each model’s engine, hydraulic and electronic systems to achieve the most efficient and powerful performance.”

The site explains the technologies used to achieve compliance, their benefits and the impact they will have on customers. It also provides answers to frequently asked questions about Tier IV standards and compliance, and offers links to other related online resources.

“With our new emissions-compliant models,” Stemper explained, “customers can count on Case for more productivity, more cost efficiency and less emissions — so they can get the job done faster and provide a cleaner future.”
