“These days, skid steers aren’t used simply for moving dirt,” said Tom Banner, Case associate marketing manager. “With the vast array of attachments available, they are serving as highly versatile tool carriers. This allows owners to maximize profits.”

He explained that Case and its allied suppliers now offer more than 75 attachments that are approved for use with Case 1800 series skid steers and XT heavy-lift tool carriers, including a selection of backhoes, grapples, brooms, cold planers, augers, hammers, forks, trenchers, cement mixers, vibratory rollers, rock wheels, stump grinders, mowers, tillers, tree spades, snow blowers and, of course, standard and specialized buckets.

All Case skid steers are available with couplers that allow fast, easy exchange of attachments. Case offers a high-flow kit for its 1840 and 1845C skid steers which doubles available hydraulic flow to attachments. A 3,000 psi high-flow hydraulic system is available for all four models of XTs, as is a 5,000 psi hydrostatic high-flow hydraulic system to drive larger, more powerful attachments for even greater productivity.

The high-flow kits improve the performance of augers, cold planers, snow blowers, stump grinders and other attachments that require rapid revolution or more hydraulic horsepower.

“The high-flow kits really maximize the capabilities of a skid steer loader. It also makes possible the use of larger, more powerful attachments,” said Banner said.

Case manufactures four 1800 series skid steers and three heavy-lift XT models. The 1825B,1838,1840 and 1845C range from 22.4 to 44.7 kilowatts (30 to 60 hp), with rated operating loads from 401 to 793 kilograms (885 to 1,750 lbs.). The 75XT, 85XT, 90XT and 95XT range from 44.7 to 63.4 kilowatts (60 to 85 hp), with rated operating loads from 998 to 1429 kilograms (2,200 to 3,150 lbs.).

Case has teamed up with major attachment suppliers including FFC, Esco and Alitec Corporation to provide a wide variety of attachments that are designed for use with Case skid steers and other Case equipment.
