Caterpillar to Announce Peoria Headquarters Plan

Caterpillar is studying its headquarters to consider potential upgrades and additions.

PEORIA, Ill. (AP) - Caterpillar Inc. is to announce plans for its headquarters campus in downtown Peoria on Feb. 20.

The company began work on the plan almost two years ago.

Assistant City Manager Chris Setti told the Journal Star (http://bit.ly/1vJiXdG ) the city is looking forward to hearing the company’s plans and is optimistic they will mean good news for downtown Peoria.

Caterpillar, the world’s leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, is studying its headquarters to consider potential upgrades and additions. The Fortune 500 company has about 2,400 employees in its primary headquarters building and another 800 others spread around Peoria’s downtown.
