Chicago Pneumatic Forward, Reversible Plates Offer Both Speed, Endurance

October 20, 2011 - National Edition
Construction Equipment Guide

The Chicago Pneumatic line of seven forward and reversible asphalt plates was built to handle the most demanding compaction jobs safely and efficiently.

Speed and endurance are hallmarks of the machines, which range in operating weight from 344 to 1,111 lbs. (156 to 504 kg), and boast centrifugal forces ranging from 7,875 to 13,488 lbs. (3,572 to 6,118 kg).

With a hydraulic steering system, the well-balanced machines allow for smooth and consistent operation, maximum operator comfort and strong maneuvering capabilities, according to the manufacturer.

Available with gas-powered Honda engines or diesel-driven Hatzengines, the wear-and-tear resistant plates have heavy-duty frames and engine covers that protect vital components, driving down maintenance costs.

The bottom plates are constructed from wear-resistant Hardox 400 steel with a hardness of 400 HBW, leading to longer service life. An electric start on the MV480, the heaviest model, boosts efficiency on job sites.
