Comet Breaker Stone Grapple Attaches to Hydraulic Hose

Construction Equipment Guide

Comet Breaker has ventured into a new type of attachment.

The company unveiled its stone grapple at this year’s ConExpo-Con/AGG.

Its design differs from other similar attachments. Normally, a thumb is attached to the arm of an excavator, but Comet Breaker has designed its attachment so the thumb is attached directly to the hydraulic hose inside the bucket.

The company said this design makes it easier to transfer from one attachment to the other to eliminate downtime.

The grapple is designed with teeth around the body to make grabbing debris easier. Also, the attachment’s hydraulic hoses are inside of a cylinder located in the main body, which helps to protect the unit from damage.
