The Concrete Industry Management (CIM) program — a business intensive program that awards students with a four-year Bachelor of Science degree in Concrete Industry Management —released its 2008-2009 Annual Report. Compiled by the National Steering Committee (NSC), the report was distributed at World of Concrete in Las Vegas, Nev.

The past fiscal year has resulted in a wealth of success and growth for the CIM program. According to Eugene Martineau, executive director of the NSC, the NSC accomplished several major initiatives designed to advance the program, including identification of the need for several new committees and creation of a Master’s Program Task Force to explore the feasibility of establishing an Executive MBA program. By embarking on these initiatives, the NSC was able to secure support for the CIM program at both a national and local level. This includes the pledged support by two new concrete industry groups who have officially joined the NSC, the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute and the American Concrete Institute Foundation.

Highlights of the 2008-2009 CIM Annual Report include:

• Reports from all committees (education, marketing/public relations, auction, recruitment, finance and long range planning)

• Institutional reports from all five CIM programs

• Industry patron profiles

• Profiles of CIM graduates

• Executive board member profiles

Mike Schneider, chairman, CIM National Steering Committee, recognized the importance of creating an annual compilation of reports for review.

“As the CIM program continues to grow, it is crucial that we are well informed of the direction and progress of each institution,” said Schneider. “The report features updates from all five CIM universities and committees.”
