Russell Sheaffer, vice president and general manager of Cummins NPower, has been selected to succeed Jim Andrews as president of the company upon Andrews’ retirement on Sept. 29.

Sheaffer joined Cummins in 1986 and served in a variety of roles within the company. In 1996 he joined Cummins North Central in St. Paul, Minn., a Cummins distributor, where he served as vice president — sales and marketing, and has worked with Jim Andrews for the past 18 years. In 2002, Sheaffer played a critical role in the successful merger of the three Upper Midwest Cummins distributors — forming Cummins NPower. He has played a significant role in NPower’s growth and success over the years.

In 2013 he completed the Advanced Executive Program at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. Sheaffer also serves on the board of directors of the Minnesota Trucking Association.
