Ditch Witch of Ohio, Western Pa. & Western N.Y., recently held Demo Days events at its facilities in Columbus, Ohio on April 4 and one week later at the dealership’s Cranberry Township, Pa., branch on April 11.
Live demonstrations featured the company’s line of Ditch Witch directional drills, mini-skid steers, TK tracker and utility locating equipment, vacuum excavators and other equipment. Attendees electing to try their hand at the machines received a free hat or travel mug with their test drive. The events also offered technical training sessions including a Baroid Mud School seminar conducted by Jeffrey Quinn of Baroid Industrial Drilling Products, a session on safety at the Cranberry location, conducted by Allison Strouse of Pennsylvania One Call System Inc., and at the Columbus event, a seminar on regulations and compliance issues presented by Roger Lipscomb, president and executive director of Ohio Utilities Protection Service.
American Augers Training Manager Dan Heath was on hand at both locations to discuss Recycling drilling fluids and mud reclaimers used in larger trenching applications. While introducing Heath, Ditch Witch of Ohio, Western Pa., & Western N.Y., owner, Matt DiIorio explained that Charles Machine Works recently purchased American Augers and assets of Trencor from Astec Industries. Because of Ditch Witch and American Augers common ownership under Charles Machine Works, Ditch Witch of Ohio, WPA & WNY has entered into a partnership arrangement within the markets they share.
DiIorio also announced the company’s new and developing relationship with Terex Compact Equipment, operating initially as a rental dealership serving a nine county area surrounding Columbus, Ohio. DiIorio said he’s impressed with the Terex line of compact equipment, and the addition of the compact track loaders and excavators provides the dealership with a more comprehensive line of machines to offer clients, enabling them to build on and enhance the company’s customer relations.
As well as opportunities to attend the educational sessions and to watch and try Ditch Witch’s new equipment lineup, attendees were treated to lunch and door prizes.
