Construction Equipment Guide

On Aug. 23 Empire Crane hosted the Northeast Regional Qualifier Event for the 2012 Crane Operator Rodeo. The event was sponsored by The Crane Institute of America, Liebherr Crane, The Crosby Group and Manitowoc. Hundreds of spectators looked on as twenty-two operators competed in the rodeo to win one of two all expense paid trips to the rodeo finals, which will be held in Orlando, Fla., in October.

Gregg Eldridge of Payne’s Crane in Binghamton finished first and Sean Noonan of Advanced Crane Services, Ringwood, N.J., finished second. The participants had to operate either a Terex T340-1 or BT70100 and complete several obstacles.

In conjunction with the event Empire Crane held an open house and barbecue lunch, which allowed its customers the opportunity to view the various cranes and crane support equipment that is available from Empire Crane.
