Frank I. Scott III, a resident of Newportville, Pa., passed away Nov. 10, 2014, surrounded by his loving family, at Jefferson Hospital. He was 63.
He was the husband of the late Linda Scott.
Born in Liberty, N.Y., he was the son of Frank Jr. and IdaMae Scott.
Mr. Scott was a 42-year employee of Giles & Ransome, and most recently was the company’s general manager of service operations.
“Ransome has lost one of its own today,” said Kristin Bromley-Fitzgerald, Ransome CAT president, in an e-mail to employees. “It is with much sadness that we learn of Frank Scott’s passing early this morning at Jefferson Hospital. Frank [Scott] has been a large part of Ransome for the last 42 years. He has been instrumental in setting high standards for our service departments and building relationships with customers and employees that have lasted a lifetime.
“Frank started with Ransome in October 1972 as a young technician. He was gifted at his trade and moved up in his career quickly. He had worked in shop management, technical training, T.C., branch manager, major account manager and served many years as our general service manager for the construction division. He demonstrated great skill in handling complex service issues and building strong relationships with major customers, employees and Caterpillar.
“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Scott family. It has been both an honor and privilege to have Frank as one of our own.”
Mr. Scott was an avid Philadelphia sports fan and also enjoyed traveling and staying at his vacation home at Chincoteague Island. He especially enjoyed spending quality time with his family and grandson.
Mr. Scott is survived by three children, Frank (Stephanie Icken) Scott, Denise (Shaun) Feger and Ken Scott; a grandson, Carson Feger; two sisters, Susan Scott-Rogers and Donna (Donald) Goodgion; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service was held Nov. 15 at Beck Givnish of Levittown, Pa.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent in Mr. Scott’s name to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia at CHOP Foundation Lockbox, Lockbox No. 1352, P.O. Box 8500, Philadelphia, Pa. 19178, in care of Cancer Care Research Fund in memory of Frank.
