Construction Equipment Guide

General Equipment Company’s 660 Dig-R-Mobile towable hydraulic hole digger is a solution for a wide variety of fence placement, sign installation and general homeowner and construction projects.

The 660 Dig-R-Mobile’s hydraulic system is designed to rotate augers at the same speeds found with General’s 300 Series portable hole-digging units. This design parameter quickly produces clean, usable holes in a wide range of soil classifications. Additionally, the high-performance, 13-hp (9.7 kW) Honda gasoline engine allows operation at reduced speeds, thereby increasing component life and producing less noise impact upon congested neighborhoods, according to the manufacturer.

Incorporating an auxiliary tool circuit, the 660 Dig-R-Mobile offers expanded utility and productivity on job sites. The HTM Class II flow (8 gpm at 2000 psi) allows the 660 to use popular hydraulically powered tools, including small breakers, post pullers and drills.

The Snap-Lok system allows the auger to be quickly stored in the travel position while not in operation. This configuration lowers the operator handle to a more ergonomically correct height, maximizing leverage and strength while reducing overall operator fatigue. Also, a separate tow-bar quickly attaches to the mainframe and allows the unit to be towed at conventional highway speeds. An integral shock absorber provides increased towing stability.

The 660 Dig-R-Mobile utilizes the same 4400 Series augers found on General’s 310/330 Series hole diggers. Augers are available in 2- to 18-in. (5 to 46 cm) diameter formats with standard digging lengths. A full-line of non-flighted and continuous-flighted auger extensions is available to extend the digging depth.
