HIPOWER Systems announced the successful certification of ANSI/CAN/UL/ULC STD 2200:220 Ed.3 + R05Sep2025 for its full Heavy Duty Industrial (HDI, HNI & HRNG) and HS-Stationary (HSY & HSF) generator product range.
This 3rd edition certification is recognized in both the United States and Canada, enabling a single C-UL-US mark to satisfy regulatory requirements across both countries — simplifying product selection for engineers and project managers.
The updated standard introduces rigorous third-party functional safety, risk and hazard analyses based on ISO 12100, addressing potential hazards such as electric shock, rotating parts, overcurrent and fuel shutoff.
Additional updates include new guarding, material specifications, electrical and fuel line spacing, enhanced safety decals and manuals, advanced fuel and exhaust testing and UL6200-listed controller compliance for software and firmware safety.
"With the ULc 2200 3rd edition listing, our customers can trust that every HIPOWER Systems generator has undergone a complete third-party safety evaluation of the design, development and testing," said EJ LeBlanc, director of engineering of HIPOWER Systems. "Safety, reliability and innovation remain at the core of everything we do."
