Van Lott Inc. of South Carolina is now the John Deere skid steer dealer in the Richland and Lexington Counties area (from its West Columbia store) and in Horry County (from its Aynor branch). “We are delighted about this development and see that it has great potential for opening new markets to us. John Deere’s mini-excavators are an excellent example of the construction equipment that will bring new customers our way,” said Vandy Lott III.

The company relocated its Conway, SC, branch to a new store on Highway 501 near Aynor in 1999. The $1.5-million, 16,000 sq. ft. facility was needed to adequately serve the Pee Dee region of the state, an area of continuous, sustained growth. “We have served the Pee Dee since the 1930s and are pleased with our decision to enhance our capabilities in the seven-county area,” said Lott.

Van Lott Inc. is headquartered in West Columbia, and in addition to the Aynor store, there are branches in Charleston and Simpsonville, SC, and in Asheville, NC. The company sells new John Deere, Dynapac, and Trail King equipment; many brands of used equipment are sold also, and small Dynapac equipment is available for rent.

Van Lott Sr. started a construction equipment and supplies business in the early 1930s. By 1947, the company had outgrown its facility on Lady Street in Columbia and moved to Meeting Street in West Columbia; in 1972, Van Lott moved to its present location at 3464 Sunset Boulevard.
