Hunyady Auction Company held a complete liquidation auction for South Tamaqua Coal Pockets Inc. on Nov. 12, 2015. The auction was held on site in Tamaqua, Pa.

South Tamaqua Coal Pockets Inc. decided to cease operations completely after 40 plus years in the anthracite industry. All machinery, equipment, rolling stock, parts and supplies were involved in the auction.

Mike Hunyady welcomed the crowd by touting all of those who fought/fight for our freedom. After a moment spent staring at the American flag, the bidding started and did not stop until the last piece was auctioned off.
