Ingersoll Rand equipment assisted in a recent project on an episode of the ABC television network’s “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” show.

Provided by the Ingersoll Rand Equipment & Services store in Lewisberry, PA, which is near Harrisburg, the equipment was used by local contractors to build a new home for the Py family.

“We were honored when asked by our contractor friends to help,” said John Seroskie, vice president and branch manager of the Lewisberry location. “Brubacher Excavating Equipment Manager Rich Deeds said the first supplier he thought of was Ingersoll Rand, and he called John Mooney, his Ingersoll Rand salesman, to see if he could count on us. Without any delay, the equipment was made available.”

“Rich knew we had the right equipment for this job,” said Mooney. “They could not afford any downtime due to the tight time constraints and limited work area. Any little problem could turn into a major problem with the film crews and all the other activities going on at one time.”

Three Ingersoll Rand pieces of equipment were used during the project — a new Ingersoll Rand ZX-125 excavator, a SD-70 soil compactor and a Club Car XRT 1500 vehicle.

Following the taping of the show, Deeds wrote a thank-you note in which he said, “The producer commented that it was the smoothest demolition project he has seen in the show’s 63 episodes. They decided to make it a two-hour special because they were so impressed by the way the whole project came together. We are honored and grateful to have been a part of it. Thank you with our sincere appreciation.”
