Imagine winning an award for selling the most umbrellas in a place where it only rains a few days each year.

That’s a little like what happened to Tracey Road Equipment recently when it received an award from Ingersoll-Rand’s road machinery division for being one of its top three dealers in the United States.

Ingersoll-Rand’s road machinery division manufactures paving and asphalt equipment and has more than 50 distributors across the country. But what is particularly significant about Tracey Road Equipment receiving this award is that the company is located in central New York State — a relatively small market.

Even more striking is that because of inclement weather in that region, paving occurs for only approximately six months each year.
