The week of October 14th was an extraordinarily busy time around the JCB manufacturing plant in Savannah, GA, as the company hosted its second annual JCB Savannahfest.
The event is an opportunity for hundreds of JCB customers to come to Savannah with their local JCB dealer to tour the plant, operate JCB equipment, experience the JCB equipment show, get to know the people behind the scenes at JCB, and of course, enjoy a lot of good food and entertainment.
There were five consecutive program days with a total attendance in excess of 600 throughout the week. Representatives from 38 JCB dealers from the U.S., Mexico, Dominican Republic and Jamaica accompanied their customers to the event.
Attendees arrived one day prior to the day-long show to take advantage of a round of golf or to tour the Savannah Historic District, and enjoy a little southern hospitality. The evening was capped off with a reception and dinner with JCB personnel.
At this year’s festivities, JCB spotlighted the new 212S backhoe loader as well as the new line of JCB backhoe loaders, which were introduced earlier this year at ConExpo in March. At JCB Savannahfest 2002, the company’s main theme was a celebration of 50 years of backhoe loader innovation.
The event was a tremendous success and according to Helmut Peters, president of JCB Inc. “was a great JCB experience for our customers. We received many compliments from customers, some of whom said JCB Savannahfest was the best experience they have had with any manufacturer visit. Customers who visited were impressed with our super-clean factory, our friendly and helpful staff, and our quality products.”
