Construction Equipment Guide

Reporting a 72-percent drop in profits for the quarter ended Jan. 31, equipment manufacturer JLF announced plans to close its Orrville, OH, plant. The change would eliminate 90 jobs over eight months, or about 3 percent of the entire workforce.

Revenues for the quarter dropped to $156 million from $230 million. Net earnings were $1.3 million, down from $4.9 million for the same quarter of the previous year.

The Ohio facility being closed makes Gradall telescopic material handlers, whose production will be transferred to the company’s McConnellsburg, PA, operations.
