J.M. Wood held a successful five-day, three-ring auction March 18-22, 2025, in Montgomery, Ala.
The company's 52nd annual spring auction featured a quality lineup of machines, trucks, forestry equipment, support pieces and much more to the highest bidder. Featured sellers included State of Alabama counties, Alabama Power, Georgia Power, Southern Nuclear, Brasfield & Gorrie Equipment Rental, Bottomline Equipment, Wiregrass Construction, Eutaw Construction and more than 500 other sellers.
"The market was strong and steady all five days for this live onsite auction," said Russ Wood, vice president of J.M. Wood Auction. "People like to come here to see the selection of machinery in one place and bid in person at a live auction. They have been coming to this same auction site for 52 years and they know the quality of the equipment that we work so hard to bring here."
Highlights of the auction, which brought in $132 million over five days, included a county owned 2022 Cat D6 that sold for $385,000. In addition to the 400 county-owned-dump trucks sold at this auction, a special Army Ranger edition new 2025 Kenworth T880 dump truck was sold with 100 percent of the proceeds going to Darby's Warrior Support.
