Wrapping up its 2025 auction calendar, JM Wood held its final sale on Dec. 3–4 at the company's Montgomery, Ala., headquarters.
The event generated more than $37 million in gross sales with 1,870 lots sold. Featured sellers included Alabama Power, Georgia Power, Bottomline Equipment, Scott Bridge, D & L Sitework, the state of Alabama Forestry Commission and more than 250 other sellers.
Among the standout highlights were a late-model, one-owner Caterpillar package from D & L Sitework and a sought-after 2007 Cat 844H dozer from Alabama Power that sold for $435,000. The sale also showcased dozens of county-owned Kenworth and Mack dump trucks from municipalities across Alabama.
"Pricing and bidding activity was strong all week — you could definitely feel positive momentum both onsite and online," said Bryant Wood, president of JM Wood Auction Co. "Contractors are busy, and they like coming here because they know they can put the quality machines that JM Wood is known for right to work."
JM Wood now turns its attention to the ALDOT auction on Jan. 22, followed by the 53rd annual Spring auction, scheduled for March 17–21, 2026 in Montgomery. CEG
