Johnny Paiz Jr. of Ritchie Bros. Passes Away at 55

Johnny Paiz Jr., 55, died Sept. 9 at his home surrounded by his family and friends. Mr. Paiz was born Aug. 14, 1957, to Johnny and Josie Paiz in Portales, N.M. He graduated from Dora High School in 1975 and on June 27, 1981, he married Jeanell Sharp in Moriarty, N.M. They made their home in Portales.

Mr. Paiz was employed by Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers selling industrial equipment worldwide. He was active in the show cattle industry and an avid supporter of the New Mexico Breed Steer Show at the New Mexico State Fair.

Mr. Paiz is survived by his wife, daughter Jewlie (Justin) Kerns, son Kody Paiz and a granddaughter, Zoey Kerns. He also is survived by his parents, siblings Larry (Josephine) Paiz, Kathy Paiz and Pete (Mary) Paiz, numerous nieces and nephews, and all his Ritchie Brothers family.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents Sixto and Euginia Paiz, and Victor and Antonia Chavez.
