Komatsu America Corp. (KAC) announces the appointment of Hisashi “Jim” Shinozuka as president and chief operating officer, responsible for all North American mining, construction and compact equipment operations. He comes to KAC from Global Headquarters Office, Komatsu Ltd. serving as general manager, Americas and European business divisions.

Shinozuka began his career with Komatsu in 1978 and has held positions of increasing responsibility including liaison general manager for Komatsu’s branch office, Istanbul, Turkey, and executive vice president, Komatsu Latin America Corp. (KLC) in Miami, Fla.

Shinozuka holds a Bachelor of Law Degree from Waseda University, Tokyo, Japan. He continued his education at the National Autonomous University of Mexico from 1981 to 1983, learning Spanish as his third language. In 1997, he completed the Senior Executive Program at the London Business School, London, UK.
