Komatsu Mining Systems Inc. has announced the new updated model WA800-3 wheel loader. At 11-cubic-meter (14.4 cu. yd.) bucket and 4.7-meter (15 ft. 6 in.) dump height with standard boom arms and 10-cubic-meter (13.1 cu. yd.) bucket and 5.5 meters (17 ft. 11 in.) with high lift boom arms, this machine is capable of loading 90-metric-ton (100 ton) and 135-metric-ton (150) ton trucks.
Some features of the WA800-3 include:
• Komatsu SAA12V140ZE-2, 12-cylinder diesel provides 603 kilowatts (808 hp) and meets all EPA Tier 1 regulations. Daily maintenance is performed on the left side of the engine from the easy-steps platform.
• Hydraulically actuated, wet multi-disc brakes actuated on all four wheels.
• Larger cab that is radio ready. Steering wheel and joystick steering remain standard, as well as the kick down switch and proportional pressure controls. The new cab is 20 percent larger, has 25 percent more heating and cooling capacity, and 31 percent more air flow — the ultimate in operator comfort.
• Larger bucket, dump height and reach over its predecessor model.
• 12.2 cubic meters (16 cu. yd.) is available with lighter material, 1,600 kilograms per cubic meter (2,700 lb/cu. yd.).
• Larger bucket and boom pins to accommodate the larger bucket and rated loads.
• Air cleaner extension, power train guard, high-pressure in-line filters, pre-lube starter and auxiliary steering are standard.
• Automatic transmission, additional work lights and Lincoln Automatic Lube system are some of the new options.
