Kozeny-Wagner Inc., a St. Louis, MO-based general contractor, recently did a high job on a communications tower in St. Charles County, MO. The problem was how to get up to 38 meters (125 ft.) to install a platform and related equipment on the tower. Solution: Machinery Inc. of St. Louis and its Grove Model AMZ131XT boom lift.
Machinery Inc. delivered the Grove AMZ131XT to the job on Dec. 6, 1999, to Lee Eikermann, general superintendent for Kozeny-Wagner Inc. John Rotter, aerial lift manager for Machinery Inc. gave lift safety training to Rich Koenig and Kirk Schatz, job superintendents for Kozeny-Wagner Inc., and assisted them in placing the Grove AMZ131XT inside the work area.
According to Lee Eikermann, Kirk Schatz operated the Grove AMZ131XT boom lift all day and commented, “The Grove AMZ131XT boom lift is solid and smooth; definitely one of the best lifts I have operated. The on-board generator sure came in handy, too.”
The Grove AMZ131XT boom lift features 38-meter (125 ft.) platform height, 270 kilogram (600 lbs.) platform capacity, four-wheel drive, four-wheel steer, and smooth proportional controls. Maximum horizontal reach of 21 meters (69 ft. 8 in.) is available for those hard to reach areas with an up and over maximum height of 18.7 meters (61 ft. 9 in.).
