Landmark Equipment, the New Holland dealer for much of north Texas, has signed an agreement making it the manufacturer’s official dealer in the Fort Worth area.
Documents were signed by Landmark in March 2002 to purchase Clemmons Tractor’s Fort Worth facility, and to become the area dealer.
“Even though the economic climate has been precarious, we know it will turn around, and our vision is to keep expanding and be prepared as it does,” said Mike Lyle, Landmark owner and president.
Landmark is a full-line New Holland construction and agricultural dealer and handles new and used equipment sales and product support, as well as a full line of rentals. According to Walter Wilson, vice president of rental operations, the company is proceeding with plans to build a new rental facility close to the Irving offices as soon as the zoning is approved.
“Rental has always been a good source of business, and even though we capitalize on it now, our new facility will further enhance our full-service line of products for short-term use,” Wilson said.
Landmark also carries a wide variety of allied products from manufacturers including Stone, Alamo, Rhino and Bush Hog.
The company maintains more than a million-dollar parts inventory with a data link allowing any facility to locate an in-stock part immediately. The data link also allows Landmark to locate any non-stocked item within the New Holland parts network for overnight delivery.
“Aside from our capabilities in obtaining needed parts from our extensive inventory or New Holland, our radio-dispatched service trucks are ready to go where our customers need them, and they are operated by our highly experienced service technicians that receive ongoing factory training,” Lyle said.
Landmark Equipment was founded in 1941 as the Ben Griffin Tractor Company, and retained that name until 1989 when the company was purchased by Mike Lyle and became known as Dallas Ford New Holland. With the establishment of the McKinney, TX, facility in 1997, and the expansion of territorial responsibilities outside Dallas, the name was changed to Landmark Equipment in 2001.
“By staying in tune with the construction needs of the north Texas area, we have been in a growth pattern for some time and plan to continue that same pattern for service capabilities in order to handle all our customers’ equipment needs for the present and the future,” said Lyle.
