At a recent JCB Service Training school held in Wilkes-Barre, PA, 12 L.B. Smith Inc. technicians attained JCB certification in a new factory-sponsored product support training recognition program.

The new JCB program certifies dealer technicians at three levels of factory-trained expertise based on the following appropriate levels of JCB factory product support training received.

1.) Entry recognition level is bronze, and attributes the title of “JCB Certified Product Specialist.”

2.) Intermediate recognition level is silver, and certifies the individual as a “JCB Senior Product Specialist.”

3.) Highest level recognized is gold, and certifies the individual as a “JCB Master Mechanic.”

L.B. Smith Inc. — the authorized JCB equipment dealer for New Jersey, eastern PA, Maryland and Virginia — is the first North American JCB dealership to have technicians recognized under the new program. In addition to the 12 certified at the most-recent school in Wilkes-Barre PA, more than 50 L.B. Smith technicians are now certified, and six individuals have already attained the “Senior Product Specialist” level under the new program.

“Better-trained dealership technicians provide a higher level of support to our end users,” said Chris Vaught, JCB’s product support manager for Pennsylvania and New Jersey. “This higher level of support ’adds value’ to our product offering, thus increasing customer satisfaction. Recognizing the amount of training our dealer technicians have undergone fosters participation in our product support training classes. The program has been very well received to date. Our goal is for all JCB technicians to be recognized as ’Gold JCB Master Mechanics.’ ”
