Work on the $3.6 million Constitutional Boulevard project in Aliquippa, Pa. began in January 1955.
The slide prone area was the infamous scene of a historic tragedy on Dec. 22, 1942, at 5:12 P.M. when an estimated 1,200 ton avalanche of rock slide down the hillside and crushed a bus killing 22 passengers. CEG
