The National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) announced Michele Stanley as the association's new president and CEO.

Stanley has been with the association for more than ten years, serving in various roles in government affairs, most recently as executive vice president and chief advocacy officer. During her tenure, she helped grow the association into a leading advocate for infrastructure investment and the aggregates industry.

"As we embark on the next era of the association, Michele will steer NSSGA to achieve real results for members," said NSSGA 2025 Chair Ted Baker, II of Blue Water Industries. "NSSGA's officers and executive committee were unanimous in our support of Michele leading the association as our next CEO. With her wealth of advocacy experience, Capitol Hill connections and industry knowledge, I am confident that she is the perfect fit for the role."

Stanley will now lead the association during a critical time for the industry, as Congress is working through its tax reform package and the reauthorization of the surface transportation bill, which is set to expire in 2026.

"From navigating the complexities of government affairs to charting the course for the entire association, I'm energized by the opportunity to leverage my experience for a broader vision and build an even stronger industry future together," said Stanley.

She has almost 15 years of experience leading public policy initiatives. During her role as NSSGA's executive vice president of government and regulatory affairs, she was named to The Hill's Top Lobbyist for four years and by the National Institute of Lobbying and Ethics for two years. Prior to her roles at NSSGA, Stanley served on the government affairs team at the National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA) and worked on Capitol Hill for Rep. Nussle (Iowa) and Rep. King (N.Y.).

Stanley is originally from Iowa and holds a degree in political science and management from Luther College, a certification in PAC management from George Washington University and a certification from the Institute for Organization Management from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. She currently lives in Arlington, Va., with her husband and son.
