Michigan DOT Buys Leica Total Stations

The Design Survey Division of the Michigan Department of Transportation has placed orders with Leica Geosystems to purchase a quantity of robotic surveying total stations.

The order includes six TCRA1103 extended range PowerSearch total stations with Allegro wireless data collectors, and three TCR1103 extended range instruments. The robotic total stations will be used for a variety of highway mapping and boundary surveying applications, supplementing the department’s Leica SR530 GPS surveying instruments.

“The TCRA1103 professional survey system, when combined with the PowerSearch automatic prism search sensor and Allegro wireless data collection system, provides the simplest, lightest and cleanest robotic solution available,” said Rick Sauve, technical sales representative for Leica Geosystems. “It offers a lightweight design, easy-to-learn user interface, a wide range of practical application programs, highly accurate reflectorless distance measurement, powerful automatic target recognition and easy one-man operation.”
