Atlanta's tallest new building since the early 1990s is officially done climbing.
New York City-based developer Rockefeller Group and its general contractor, Turner Construction, held a topping-out ceremony Nov. 7, 2025, for 1072 West Peachtree, a 60-story LEED Silver-certified mixed-use skyscraper that has been changing Midtown Atlanta's cityscape for the past two and a half years, according to Urbanize Atlanta, an online news site about development, planning and real estate in the metropolitan area.
Officials with Rockefeller are now predicting the project will be finished in spring 2026, just in time for Atlanta's hotly anticipated, month-long slate of 2026 FIFA World Cup soccer matches. Urbanize Atlanta noted that the army of construction workers currently onsite indicates that the development company is serious about meeting that goal.
"Topping out 1072 West Peachtree marks a defining moment for both Rockefeller Group and Midtown Atlanta," John Petricola, Rockefeller's senior managing director of the Southeast region, explained in a news statement. "This development represents the next chapter of mixed-use design in the city, where world-class architecture, and thoughtfully programmed amenities come together to create a one-of-a-kind vertically integrated community."
The tower, designed by TVS, an Atlanta-based architectural studio — in collaboration with Brock Hudgins Architects, also located in Georgia's capital city — will include 357 apartments (or "premier residences"), Rockefeller representatives confirmed to Urbanize Atlanta.
In addition, the building will offer eight floors encompassing 224,000 sq. ft. of Class A office space, a full acre of indoor and outdoor "Sky Garden" amenities, designed with seating areas for collaboration or relaxation, as well as a flexible-use lawn ideal for gathering, gaming and hosting events overlooking the city.
Among the other amenities to be featured within 1072 Peachtree are a pickleball court, an indoor Pilates studio and a private training room. The amenities deck, Rockefeller officials said, will be Midtown's largest.
At the building's street level, another 6,300 sq. ft. of retail space will be made available.
New Tower Within Easy Reach of Many Popular Atlanta Destinations
With a height of 749 ft., 1072 West Peachtree supplants the Westin Peachtree Plaza Hotel as Atlanta's fifth-tallest high-rise. It also is the tallest structure built in the city in the last three decades.
"The topping out of 1072 West Peachtree marks an incredible achievement for everyone involved," said Kevin Jenkins, Turner Construction's senior vice president. "The men and women on this project have shown exceptional commitment and craftsmanship throughout this journey. We're honored to partner with Rockefeller Group on a development that celebrates their vision and stands as a new landmark on Atlanta's skyline."
As one of the most significant additions to Midtown's skyline in recent history, 1072 West Peachtree exemplifies Rockefeller Group's forward-looking approach to placemaking, creating a dynamic environment that blurs the boundaries between residential, office and community spaces.
Ideally located in Midtown Atlanta, the new building will provide tenants and residents unrivaled access to more than 100 restaurants, bars and cafes, and is just a 10-minute walk from Piedmont Park, Tech Square, Colony Square and The Plaza Midtown Shopping District.
The property also is conveniently located within a five-minute walk of both the Midtown and Arts Center MARTA transit stations and is within easy reach of both Interstates 75 and 85. In addition, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is only a 14-minute drive away.
