Miller Trailblazer 302 EFI, Bobcat 250 EFI Reduce Costs

Miller Electric Mfg. Co. has introduced two Electronic Fuel Injected (EFI) engine-driven twin-cylinder welder generators: The Trailblazer 302 EFI and the Bobcat 250 EFI. Replacing the carburetor with EFI improves fuel economy up to 27 percent, reduces harmful emissions up to 33 percent and eliminates carburetor icing, according to the manufacturer.

Miller also increased the weld output and generator power (12,000 peak/10,500 continuous watts) on both machines to provide contractors a green, cost-efficient machine with improved performance over carburetor-based models.

Replacing carburetors with EFI reduces hydrocarbon (HC) and nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions by 33 percent and carbon monoxide (CO) emissions by 27 percent while also saving as much as $1,000/year (assuming 25 gallons per week at $3 per gallon) in fuel costs, according to the manufacturer.

Higher Welding Output

The Trailblazer 302 EFI and Bobcat 250 EFI are both true multi-process machines that provide strong Stick, MIG, flux cored, AC/DC TIG and gouging capabilities. The Trailblazer 302 welds 280 amps at 100-percent duty cycle (300 amps/wire welding); The Bobcat 250 welds 250 amps at 100-percent duty cycle (275 amps for wire welding). Running Miller welders off either machine's generator power further transforms these engine drives into powerful multi-arc systems that increase productivity while lowering fuel use and cost-per-arc ownership, according to the manufacturer.

All rated outputs are tested at 104F (40C) for optimal performance and integrity. Both machines feature a protective armor similar to that used in automotive bumpers and tractor hoods. This offers high-impact resistance in all temperatures and is chemical resistant. EFI eliminates carburetor icing and ensures easy starting and optimal performance in all climates.
