Moore Brothers Company Inc. has earned the 2002 Construction Quality Award from the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).

The award is given annually to recognize one transportation contractor whose work exemplifies the best in construction quality and management practices. The project selected was the Fairfax County Parkway. Also honored was the engineering firm of Parsons Brinckerhoff.

A member of the Virginia Road and Transportation Builders Association, Moore Brothers was honored with the presentation of the Award on April 1. The award was presented by VDOT's Chief Engineer for Operations Frank Gee.

"Building and maintaining a safe and efficient transportation network is the mission we share with the Virginia Department of Transportation. Moore Brothers Company is setting the standard for excellence for all Virginia transportation contractors," said Dick Daugherity, Virginia Road and Transportation Builders Association's executive vice president.
