Murphy Tractor & Equipment Co. Inc., has added two new salesmen to join its sales staff in Missouri. Jaon Beckner has been added to the territory sales manager team in Springfield, Mo., while Justin Grisham has accepted the position of compact equipment sales manager in Kansas City, Mo.
Beckner will be responsible for new and used heavy construction equipment, attachments and trailer sales in southwestern Missouri. Beckner grew up in the construction equipment industry as his father worked in the business. That background, along with more than 10 years selling forklifts and industrial equipment in southwestern Missouri, will help Beckner excel in his new role.
When asked what he was most looking forward to, Beckner responded, “I am excited to get to know the customers and establish a basis of trust with them. I am also looking forward to the chance to represent and sell John Deere equipment. As a large John Deere construction equipment dealer, Murphy Tractor has many assets to offer its customers and has great tools for its sales personnel.”
In Grisham’s new position, he will specialize in promoting John Deere skid steers, compact track loaders and compact excavators throughout northwestern Missouri. Grisham also grew up in the construction industry; working at the family owned excavating and quarry businesses. In addition to working for the family businesses, Grisham also owned a contracting business, performing grading and skid steer services.
“As a former contractor, Justin understands the needs of the contractor and I feel he has the skills and empathy to support their needs, helping them buy equipment. He also knows how to operate the equipment professionally which will serve him well with customer demonstrations and walk-arounds. Justin is no stranger to the customer base he will support as he grew up in his territory,” said Greg Knipp, Kansas City, Mo., branch manager.
