New +Range Rods Proven to Deliver an Increase in Service Life

Sandvik Construction’s +Range MF-rod series for bench drilling applications delivered a greater than 30 percent longer lifetime than conventional rods in field tests.

“Sandvik’s research and development primarily focuses on innovative solutions to offer safer operations, reduced production costs, increased reliability and enhanced customer productivity. By using a new steel alloy we are able to offer a rod with much higher resistance to wear,” said Christer Lundberg, rock tools product manager, Sandvik Construction. “Our customers can now run a +Range rod for a longer period with the need for fewer rods to get the job done. This saves both time and cost in production as well as in logistics for our customers.”

The Sandvik +Range is a new premium range of bench drilling top hammer MF-rods and drill tubes. Four versions are launched initially: T38+, T45+, T51+ and GT60+. The T38+, T45+, T51+ are additions to the standard range, while GT60+ will replace the standard GT60 assortment.
