The 47th Annual National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA) Convention in conjunction with the Work Truck Show was held March 8 to 10 at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis. Billed as North America’s largest work truck show, the event drew more than 10,000 attendees, spanned 500,000 sq. ft. of exhibit space and featured more than 500 exhibitors. Among the highlights of the event were more than 80 new product launches focusing on vocational trucks and transportation equipment from Classes 1 to 8, including chassis, bodies, components and accessories.
Along with the new product launches there were more than 40 intensive training programs covering topics as truck upfitting, regulatory compliance and business management.
The Green Truck Summit also was held in conjunction with the conference and show. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Administrator David Strickland, launched the summit, delivering the keynote address. The sold-out event provided information about deployment and application of green technologies and its impact on commercial trucks. The half-day event included an opportunity for attendees to test drive hybrid and alternative fuel commercial vehicles.
