Ohio CAT hosted the Ohio Equipment Distributors Association Annual Meeting and Conference Oct. 5 at its Power Systems Division in Columbus, Ohio.
The event featured a panel discussion on Tier IV Engine Emission Regulations moderated by Ohio CAT President Ken Taylor. Panel speakers included Mary Roethler, Tier IV NPI manager, Caterpillar; J.J. Zeilstra, emissions standards engineer, Kubota Engine America; Brad Couch, program director, Clean Fuels Ohio; and Ron Wallace, vice president equipment, George J. Igel & Company Inc.
Carol Hagen of Hagen Business Systems also spoke during the meeting regarding business applications for social media Web sites like Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and YouTube and a talk on minimizing credit card merchant fees by Ron Cilenti of Electronic Merchant Services.
Ken Taylor presented an OEDA report and Bill Hermanek and Rich Roswell provided an AED update report.
OEDA Legislative Director Gordon Gough provided updates on legislative and regulatory issues as well as insights into the impact of the coming election on Ohio business.
The Ohio Equipment Distributors Association is made up of equipment, service and supply providers serving the construction, maintenance, mining and public works fields in Ohio. The OEDA works closely with the Associated Equipment Distributors association as well as other associations serving the marketplace. OEDA sponsors seminars throughout the year on a range of subjects including safety, financing, and labor, as well as manufacturer/ distributor relations and salesmanship.
