The website Newsok is reporting that the May Avenue bridge that partially collapsed onto Northwest Expressway last month could reopen to normal traffic as soon as mid-July.

Repair plans include converting Northwest Expressway to two-way traffic in the eastbound lanes during three to four weeks of construction.

May Avenue will be shut down entirely for two brief periods during the process but otherwise will remain open to two-way traffic in the southbound lanes.

Most of a 52-foot-long section of the bridge's northbound lanes fell May 19 after being struck by a truck hauling a boom lift. Nobody was hurt.
