OSHA Moves Deadline for Crane Certification

Crane operators were initially supposed to be certified by Nov. 10 of this year, but the agency has now pushed the date back to Nov. 17, 2018.

OSHA announced Aug. 30 that it will extend the deadline to its Cranes and Derricks in Construction: Operator Certification Extension rule.

Crane operators were initially supposed to be certified by Nov. 10 of this year, but the agency has now pushed the date back to Nov. 17, 2018. According to OSHA, employers must make sure crane operators have been trained to competently operate the equipment by that date.

OSHA has invited any comments on the proposal to be submitted by Sept. 29, 2017.
