Since the 1920s, the Permian Basin has stood as a cornerstone of United States energy production. Each time experts suggest its potential has peaked, new technology emerges to extend its reach and reinforce its importance to the nation's energy independence.
That was on full display when the Permian Basin International Oil Show (PBIOS) returned to Odessa, Texas, Oct. 21-23, 2025. The three-day event at the Ector County Coliseum featured more than 650 exhibitors and drew more than 20,000 industry professionals from around the world.
According to event organizers, PBIOS remains one of the most respected gatherings in the oil and gas industry, showcasing equipment, technology and services that drive efficiency and productivity across all sectors.
Equipment dealers who participated this year were Vermeer Texas-Louisiana, Warren CAT, Bobcat of Midland-Odessa, Kirby-Smith Machinery, Beard Equipment, Central Power Systems & Services and Stewart & Stevenson.
The show also celebrated the industry's history with displays such as a fully operational cable-tool rig and vintage equipment from the 1930s, along with the Oldtimers' Lounge that honored the people who helped shape the Permian Basin.
PBIOS 2025 was open to industry professionals. Whether attendees are engineers, executives or equipment operators, the event offered valuable opportunities to connect, learn and discover the technologies shaping the future of energy. CEG
