Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers (Canada) Ltd. announced Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers generated more than $68.7 million in gross transaction value (GTV) during its April auction in Grande Prairie, Alberta. The result set a new site record and more than doubled year over year, exceeding 2.5 times the prior year's performance.

The auction attracted nearly 10,000 bidders, with more than 1,100 buyers actively competing across construction, transportation, forestry and energy sectors. In total, more than 2,600 lots sold, nearly doubling the 2025 auction's count, reflecting both increased supply and sustained demand for quality equipment.

Anchored by a retirement dispersal for Mur-Cal Services Ltd., the auction featured a large volume of late-model, well-maintained equipment supporting logging, mulching and transportation applications. The quality and consistency of the Mur-Cal fleet drove sustained bidding activity, reinforcing demand for ready-to-work assets across sectors. Additional consignments from Macro Industries and a complete dispersal for T-Rucking Oilfield Services Ltd. contributed to the overall depth and diversity of the lineup.

"Grande Prairie delivered a strong result, based on the early dispersal and re-alignment consignments, which helped build a world-class event," said Jordan Clarke, senior vice president, Canada sales of Ritchie Bros. "We saw consistent competition across sectors, especially on high-quality, late-model equipment. When that level of supply is matched with active buyer demand, it drives competitive outcomes."

High-value transactions during the auction included:

• 2019 Cat D9T crawler dozer ($1.12 million)

• 2011 Foremost Commander 8x8 articulating bed truck (CA$484,860)

• Multiple 2022 John Deere 470G LC VG tracked excavators (CA$224,060)

Results from Grande Prairie were consistent with trends observed across recent Ritchie Bros. auctions, with sustained demand for quality equipment and strong buyer participation. That momentum carries into the company's upcoming May 11-15 Edmonton auction, one of its largest and most anticipated annual events.
