Construction Equipment Guide

Road Machinery LLC has acquired the assets of Shanahan Equipment, the Komatsu distributor for northern California. Headquartered in Phoenix, Ariz., Road Machinery is the exclusive distributor for Komatsu equipment in Arizona, New Mexico, western Texas and southern California.

"This acquisition gives Shanahan customers access to our services and is an excellent opportunity for us to expand our operations," noted Dennis Romanson, president of Road Machinery. "We are happy to strengthen our relationship with Komatsu by broadening our territory to include nearly all of California."

Terms of the acquisition were not announced. Road Machinery has relocated all of the former Shanahan operations to new facilities in Sacramento, Fresno, Bakersfield and Redding. Road is currently in the process of selecting locations in the San Francisco Bay area. Each branch will carry the full line of Komatsu construction, mining, utility and forestry equipment and will offer quick parts availability plus the full range of shop and field services.

Road Machinery LLC has been selling and servicing heavy machinery since 1955. As the exclusive dealer for Komatsu in the southwest, the company has eight locations throughout the area in Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, and California. Road Machinery also carries equipment from Metso Minerals, NPK, Sennebogen and the Wirtgen Group, which includes Vogele, Wirtgen and Hamm.
