Robert Stanley “Bob” Williams II Dies

Mr. Williams was a highly respected member of the construction equipment industry with friends and colleagues from all around the world.

Robert Stanley Williams II, 75, of University Park, Fla., formerly of Hanover, N.H., and Williamsburg, died on March 19.

Mr. Williams is survived by his wife, Barbara (Bergen), two sons, Robert III (Allison) and David (Pam), and two grandchildren, Margaret and Matthew. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Maybelle (Neurath).

Mr. Williams graduated from Rumson-Fair Haven H.S. in New Jersey and then attended the University of Vermont. He spent most of his career in the construction equipment industry. He started out with Foley Machinery Co. in New Jersey. He then went on to start New England Equipment Co. in White River Jct., Vt., which became one of the top John Deere Equipment dealers in the United States, winning many awards for excellence.

After selling New England Equipment, Mr. Williams went on to work for Milton Caterpillar before founding another successful business with his sons, International Construction Equipment (ICE). At ICE, he was most proud to work alongside his sons Rob and David.

Mr. Williams was a highly respected member of the construction equipment industry with friends and colleagues from all around the world. In addition to his work, he served on the town council of Colts Neck, N.J., and the board of directors of the Marble Bank in Vermont. He loved gardening, boating, cooking and traveling with his family.

Mr. Williams was most passionate about his family and celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary in 2012 with Barbara and the rest of his family in Tuscany, Italy.
